Targeting of MOBA video games on female players and their perception of the targeting

The diploma thesis Perceptions of MOBA video game targeting of women and gender aspects manifested in gaming behaviour focuses on the behavior of women in the gaming environment and three popular MOBA games - League of Legends, DotA 2 and Heroes of the Storm in the theoretical part. In this section, gender, gender stereotype is also defined and the sexualisation of female avatars is approached. In the practical part, the collected data is analyzed using thematic analysis and open coding. The aim of the research is to approach the influence of female gender on the gameplay behaviour of women in MOBA video games and to analyse the way MOBA games target women. The results show the significant importance of socialization for female gamers' gaming behavior, the negative influence of toxic environments within the community, the lack of targeting of women in MOBA games, and the influence of avatar design and abilities on their selection. The main contribution of this thesis lies in the investigation of women's gaming behaviour in the context of MOBA games and the implementation of the research in a Czech gaming environment. Media stereotypization and labeling of people with a disability in Czech media and its impact on the audience

Abstract The presented master thesis deals with the topic of stereotypical presentations of disabled people in Czech newspapers and with its impact on the audience. This topic build on previous findings regarding repetitive stereotypical images and frames of disabled which were not only studied on newspapers. Simultaneously with those reoccurring frames and images we can also find positive of negative labels which are used in connection with disabled in newspapers. The work examines whether these phenomena occur also in Czech online and printed news. Using qualitative content analysis phenomena mentioned above were searched in randomly selected one hundred news. Requirement for choosing articles to selection was that the articles content need to be whole about handicapped people. Precisely, based on previous literature the text were analyzed and it was searched for narrative frames or models, stereotypical frames and labels that could be presented in texts. Media Coverage of Rytiri Kladno Ice Hockey Club During Two Extraliga Qualifications

The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze the media coverage of Rytiri Kladno ice hockey club during two extraleague qualifications. The qualitative research is based on concepts of framing and news values. The sample contains four online news websites in two seasons. Three of these websites are parts of large media houses, one of them is focused solely on ice hockey. The aim of this thesis is to describe, how media outputs related to Rytiri Kladno were framed. The frames are described in analytical part, that is concluded with summarization of its findings. Conclusion summarizes the framing analysis results and compares the findings with current academic knowledge of framing and sports journalism in general.
Framing of Me Too Campaign in Selected Czech Media

The thesis Framing of Me Too Campaign in Selected Czech Media examines how selected Czech newspapers and magazines represented the Me Too movement. This movement is considered to be an example of hashtag activism which relates to sexual harassment and gender based violence. This thesis draws both from theoretical and analytical concept of media framing. Using qualitative analysis based on grounded theory approach - more specifically open and axial coding - the research aims at identification and description of news frames that appears in analysed articles. The sample is composed of selected articles published at newspapers and magazines, including Hospodářské noviny Lidové noviny, Právo, Blesk, Reflex, Blesk pro ženy and Respekt. Axial coding stage revealed ten news frames which were integrated into three major categories: (1) Social consequences of the Me Too movement (2) Me Too in the context of Czech Republic and (3) Film festivals (and awards) in the light of the Me Too movement.

Facebook, the new generation phenomen

The bachelor thesis " Facebook, the new generation phenomen" aims to introduce the social network Facebook in the theoretical part and find out what are the reasons people use it. The social networks are introduced in the theoretical part of the bachelor thesis and a special attention is given to the social network Facebook. Secondly, the dangerous phenomena connected with the social networks and cyberspace are mentioned. In the research part interviews, conducted with six respondents who answered questions concerning the activities they take part in on Facebook, were processed using the open coding method. The method of electronic document analysis, based on monitoring their activities on Facebook, was used in order to verify and complete their statements.
Matrimonial crises by clients of marriage counselling service

This diploma work is dealing with the phenomenon of matrimonial crises. In the introductory chapters of the theoretical part we are defining the main themes of this work - relationship, philosophy of marriage, crises and marital crises. We are concerned with the couples therapy, its history and selected approaches. One chapter is devoted to the developmental approach that gives the possibility to see marital crises as an opportunity to self-knowledge, personality growth or relationship advancement. Practical part is conceived as a qualitative research. Its main goal is to survey and explore marital crises that we observed in clients of marital consulting centre. We would like to offer a more generalized vision of marital crises. We would also answer the questions how does a marital crises looks like and what processes are going on. Our work is setting down the research goals and describes in details chosen methodology, research sample and the methods of collecting and processing the data. Research data were collected mainly in the half- structured interview that was completed by the observation of interaction styles and a technique of relationship sculpturing. The media image of the muslims in the Reflex magazine

The bachelor´s paper studies the problems of muslims who live in the Czech Republic and the media image of them in the Reflex magazíne. In the beginning of the paper I briefly discuss the history of the presence of muslims in the Czech Republic and she will describe the acceptance of them by Czech people.The category muslim will be explain and who belongs to it according to media and experts in social science in the Czech Republic.The work will present researches of public opinion of respected czech agencies involved in this topic. I will show some problematic situations debated by media in Czech Republic. The main part of the paper is the analysis of the media image of the muslims in the Czech Republic in the chosen magazine in a certain time period. Some articles from the Reflex magazíne will be analyzed. Specify will be the media image of the muslims in the years 2012-2013. In the conclusion of the paper will be analyzed some stereotyps and some statements about the muslim minority in the Czech Republic.
